Google Docs

Got to thinking about applications for Google Docs within the workplace. It would work exceptionally well in places where there is not a corporate wiki or even where there is one and not all staff have access. Small organizations or student or business work groups could make extensive use of this technology. I suggest that the library develop a User Education class targeting high school students. Put an end to those late night meetings - they can share on line anytime!

23things Assignment #6

Apart from having to set up yet another account, the assignment was useful as an introduction to more aspects of internet sharing. I look forward to collaborating with everyone on their individual documents.

23Things Assigment #5

Oh it is soooo del.icio.us!
It is easy to see the potential here. I am especially interested in travel sites and can see how this easily narrows internet searches to specific personal interests. Send me your favourite travel sites too so that I can add them to mine!

RSS feeds

Signing up for an RSS feed can indeed by a Really Simple Solution! I have to say though, that I found it much easier to register directly from my email account rather than through the bloglines.com site. Creating a bloglines account is an unnecessary step and I found the experience very frustrating. Anybody else have this experience?

I have chosen to receive the following three feeds:
http://680news.com/rss/local.jsp for local news, traffic and weather,
http://rsstesting.theweathernetwork.com/weather/caon0696 for the marine weather before I go sailing on Lake Ontario, and
http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheGlobeAndMail for federal and international happenings.

23Things Assignment #2

My idea of a vacation paradise. Luz, Portugal anytime during our Canadian winter. Temperatures are spring-like, it hardly ever rains and there are tons of lovely beaches for strolling.

After years of dispassionate interest in the garden, we invested some time and energy in to establishing a new flower bed. Rhodoendrons are the featured plant and we hope that next year we will see some glorious blooms just like these.

Sailing on Lake Ontario is not as picturesque as it is here on Great Bay but it is a lively adventure not the less.
